Welcome to vibrant Vietnam. Enjoy the day at leisure and settle into a two night Special Stay at the iconic Sofitel Legend Metropole. Meals: D DAY 2: April 12th, 2023 - Hanoi Freechoice: Visit the History Museum and Hoa Lo Prison, or join an authentic cooking class. Alternatively, visit Ho Chi Minh Quarter and Mausoleum, including a visit to the Temple of Literature. Scenic Enrich: After attending a customary performance of Hanoi’s famous Water Puppets, learn the secrets behind this illusionary show thanks to your special backstage pass. Meals: B.D DAY 3: April 13th, 2023 - Hanoi to Halong Bay Cruise Journey to Halong Bay and board the elegant Au Co for an awe-inspiring two night Special Stay cruise through the picturesque waters of this spectacular World Heritage- listed icon. Meals: B.L.D DAY 4: April 14th, 2023 - Halong Bay Cruise Begin the day with a Tai Chi lesson. Cruising deeper into the National Park, try some kayaking, explore a cave and discover Cat Ba Island. Meals: B.L.D DAY 5: April 15th, 2023 - Halong Bay Cruise to Hanoi Relax during your morning cruising before returning to Hanoi for another Special Stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole and undertake a historical bunker tour at the hotel. Freechoice Dining: Tonight enjoy a Vespa foodie tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, or dine at the La Terrace at Sofitel. Alternatively, dine in a classic French villa at Home Moc restaurant. Meals: B.L.D DAY 6: April 16th, 2023 - Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City After a morning at leisure, fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Relax for the next two nights at the Caravelle Saigon, ‘in the heart of Saigon’. Meals: B.D DAY 7: April 17th, 2023 - Ho Chi Minh City Travel to the Cu Chi Tunnels and learn about the underground labyrinth of war-time passageways. After lunch, stop for some bargaining at Ben Thanh Market. Freechoice Dining: Enjoy a Vespa foodie tour of Saigon, enjoy a meal in an old French colonial house or a restaurant specialising in Saigon street food. Alternatively, try Italian at Basilico or international fare at Nineteen Restaurant. Meals: B.L.D DAY 8: April 18th, 2023 - Saigon to Mekong River Cruise Discover Vietnam’s modern history through a visit to the Reunification Palace and War Museum. DAY 9: April 19th, 2023 - Cai Be to Sa Dec
Freechoice: Board a sampan to visit Cai Be, local cottage industries and a traditional Vietnamese house. Alternatively, savor morning tea at the colonial French home, Le Longanier or stay on board for a special activity. Back on board make use of the ship’s luxury and take the time to sip on included cocktails by the pool or enjoy some solitude on your private balcony. Later, immerse yourself in the historic town of Sa Dec and interact with the sellers in the lively market. Also visit the home of Mr Huynh Thuy Le who inspired Marguerite Duras’ novel L’Amant. Meals: B.L.D DAY 10: April 20th, 2023 - Tan Chau Freechoice: Visit Evergreen Island and enjoy a ride in a Xe Loi through Tan Chau. In Chau Doc visit a family-operated fish farm or visit Tra Su Bird Sanctuary. The afternoon is at leisure on board to take advantage of the facilities of the most luxurious ship on the Mekong. Enjoy a themed dinner to say farewell to Vietnam. Meals: B.L.D DAY 11: April 21st, 2023 - Tan Chau to Phnom Penh Arrive early this morning into the capitol of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Freechoice: Journey to the Killing Fields and tour Tuol Sleng, the former school that was converted to the main prison of the Khmer Rouge, or take a guided tour of the local food market before joining a hands-on Khmer cooking demonstration. Alternatively, explore Phnom Penh’s colonial buildings by tuk tuk and visit the Central Market before stopping for lunch at a local NGO restaurant teaching street kids hospitality skills. This afternoon time is yours for shopping or exploring on your own. Enrich: Later this evening revel in our Phnom Penh by City Lights tour, giving you an insight to the nightlife of the capitol before stopping at a distillery for an exclusive tour and tasting. Meals: B.L.D DAY 12: April 22nd, 2023 - Phnom Penh to Oudong Journey to the ancient capitol of Oudong to visit the impressive pagoda and monastery. This afternoon marvel at the Royal Palace, featuring the famous Silver Pagoda on your included visit to this must-see attraction. Sundowners: Enjoy a cocktail reception on the Sun Deck against the backdrop of Phnom Penh’s lights as the ship sails from the capitol at sunset. Meals: B.L.D DAY 13: April 23rd, 2023 - Koh Dach to Angkor Ban At Koh Dach Island, learn all about the art of silk weaving. Further upstream in Angkor Ban, explore its historical rural wooden houses, which survived the Khmer Rouge and visit a local teacher who teaches English to the local schoolchildren. Meals: B.L.D DAY 14: April 24th, 2023 - Wat Hanchey to Kampong Cham Meet the novice monks at Wat Hanchey, an ancient hilltop pagoda and monastery. Walk (or drive) to the top and soak in some of the best elevated views of the cruise. Enrich: Receive a blessing from a monk and learn how to pray in a Buddhist pagoda before partaking in a ceremony, which contributes to the daily meal of the resident monks. Sail downstream to Kampong Cham. Freechoice: Learn the history of the area with a visit to Phnom Pros (Man Hill) and then Wat Nokor, an 11th- century temple that has a modern pagoda built within. Alternatively, explore the traditional village of Koh Pen or visit a rubber plantation factory and betel nut village. Meals: B.L.D DAY 15: April 25th, 2023 - Mekong Cruise to Siem Reap Discover the rural side of Cambodia on your drive to the historic Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, your stylish three night Special Stay. Meals: B.L DAY 16: April 26th, 2023 - Siem Reap Freechoice: Discover Banteay Srei and visit the Landmine Museum or admire the skills on display at Artisans D’Angkor. Later in the afternoon visit the colossal Angkor Wat. After visit the atmospheric, jungle covered Ta Prohm Temple, before stopping at Angkor Thom and the multi- faced Bayon Temple.
